O.C. Chick Fil A Receipt Days!

Chic-fil-a

Every Friday in the month of March you can get more for your money at Chick Fil A restaurants in Orange County! All the locations are having receipt days all day long every Friday – this means you can order whatever you want to eat (including platters), save your receipt and then come back any day in March to get the same order for free!  That’s getting your twice as much for your money!

The locations in Orange County are:

If you click on the location above it’ll take you to their Fanpage on Facebook. I suggest you become a fan of your local store so you can keep up with their own great promotions! (Each store has their own promotions) I know that Yorba Linda is giving away a free breakfast entree every Monday morning this month in addition to the receipt day! All of that info is on their fan page!

Not in OC? Then click here to find your nearest Chick Fil A!

Tricks of the Trade: Extra Stockpile

tricks_of_the_tradeOk, if you’ve been couponing for a while you probably have a good stock pile of goodies around your house – I know that I do! I’ve actively been at the crazy game of couponing for over around a year now and I have collected some GREAT freebies in that time! Unfortunately I don’t have use for all of it because I am one of those couponers that has a hard time passing up anything free if I’m already going to the store!

So what should we do with all the extra’s we pick up from our couponing adventures? I’ve read some ideas on blogs over this past year and even talked to a few couponers in person and have created a list with a few suggestions for us. If you have any other suggests please leave a comment sharing with all of us!

  1. Sell them at a garage sale! If you are already planning to have a garage sale then selling your extras there can give you some cash in hand. It probably won’t yield retail value but you’ll probably be able to get $0.50-$1 per item. (You can try for more but just remember that people coming are looking for REALLY good deals!)
  2. Give them to your friends! Your friends would probably LOVE to come “shopping” in your closets! Go through your stock piles and put everything out somewhere that your friends can browse and then invite them over to shop! Bake some of those $0.25 brownie’s you’ve picked up and make some coffee! You’ll have a great time I know it! (Besides this can be your way of thanking them for listening to you talk about all the great bargains you’ve been getting!)
  3. Box it up and donate! you can box up all of your supply and donate it to your local food bank or homeless shelter! there are so many of these organizations out there that can use your donations – especially in this economy!
  4. Create your own food pantry! This is my plan. I know that there are families in my church that are struggling to make ends meet and having a resource for simple things like Toilet Paper and Laundry soap will go a long way in loosing the belt a bit!

I recently contact my church to see if this was something I could head up as a new ministry and they were just as excited about it as I was! In fact, they’d just been contacted by someone else in our church that wanted to donate items – talk about confirmation! They have since given me a closet to get started with and I’m working on gathering my extras to start stocking it!  And I’m sure there are plenty of other people at my church that would be willing to help fill and supply the pantry regularly!

Perhaps after I get it up and running and figure out all the ins and outs of it I’ll do a post about how to start your own but right now I’m playing it all by ear! (If you have any tips on starting or running one I’d love to hear!)

So what do you do with your extra’s? Do you regularly go through and re-evaluate what you have in stock? I’m limited in space so I have to keep going through it! I’d love to get your suggestions!
