Potty Training Update
I know I haven’t posted anything about how my potty training with Joy-joy has been going for months and I’m sure you’ve been on the edge of your seat just waiting to hear!I know, I know the truth is you probably haven’t but we’ve been thinking about it, and dealing with it and working on it since I started this whole process WAY back in October! (I can’t believe we started that long ago!)
To be honest I had pretty much let Joy-joy go back to diapers because it was a lot easier and less frustrating for me! But I finally bit the bullet and we stopped diapers and pull ups cold turkey last week! We are planning to start her in preschool next month and she has to be potty trained by then!
We went last week to check out a couple of schools and it was so encouraging for her (and me). The lady who gave us a tour was fabulous and told Joy-joy that when she didn’t wear diapers anymore she’d be able to come back and play with all the kids. The next day we went home and haven’t worn a diaper since (outside of sleeping).
The first few days of going “cold turkey” were a bit wet but we have kept on going and she is doing awesome! Our biggest challenge has been that she wouldn’t tell me when she had to go – I had to keep asking her and I felt like she would never do it! But, as kids always seem to do, out the blue this past Sunday she did! She started to tell me when she needed to go and she hasn’t stopped!
I am so happy about her progress and that she’ll be all ready for school next month that I had to share! And now you can sit back and finally relax in your chair
