Store Brand Formula

storebrandformulaThis is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of PBM Products. All opinions are 100% mine.

One of my first “Tricks of the Trade” posts on this blog was about ways to save money on formula. (A very COSTLY expense that all new parents come to find out VERY quickly). One suggestion in that post was to buy a generic brand (or store brand) formula instead of name brand. This is what I did with both of my girls – usually purchasing it at Sam’s Club. I loved doing this because it saved me at least 50% – and who doesn’t want to save 50%!

One reason some parents have chosen to stick with name brands and pay the big bucks is claims that the store brands do not have the same nutritional value. Well, I am here to tell you – they do!

PBM Products, LLC is the company that makes store-brand infant formula for Walmart, Sam’s Club, Target, Kroger, Walgreens and other retailers. They recently won their third lawswuit against Mead Johnson (the makers of Enfamil Lipil) for claims of false advertising. Mead Johnson had ads that said “It may be tempting to try a less expensive store brand, but only Enfamil LIPIL is clinically proven to improve brain and eye development” and “there are plenty of other ways to save on baby expenses without cutting back on nutrition.”

PBM Products took Mead Johnson to court to prove these advertisements as false (which dealt with the additives DHA and ARA) and proved in court that their store brand formulas have the same levels if not more than Mean Johnson’s Enfamil LIPIL! Because of their false advertisements Mead Johnson has cost some parents hundreds of extra dollars a year because they mislead them!

So there you have it – you can now TRUST that store brand formula contains THE SAME nutritional value as brand names – saving you up to $600 a year!
