Hi, welcome to The MommyTrade! My name is Aimee and I am the creator of this blog. Let me tell you a little about myself and why I created this blog.
First and foremost, I am a wife to James, a Stay at Home Mom (SAHM) of 2 little girls (Joy-Joy, age 3 and Gracie-Grace age 1 1/2) AND I’m a follower of my LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. I currently live in Orange County, CA and I LOVE to save money every chance I get. As I like to say I love the “thrill of the deal”!
I desire to pursue the life as a Proverbs 31 wife. I know that you don’t become a Proverbs 31 wife overnight but I am doing everything I can to become one. I desire to run my household with diligence, wisdom and good stewardship. With that I am raising my children in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and teaching my girls how to (one day) become a Proverbs 31 wife for their husbands. I believe that if the woman that is described in Proverbs 31 was apart of this generation she would no doubt be a saver and a couponer!
I haven’t perfected the art of saving and getting the best deal on everything in life as some women out there have by I am working on it. In the process I am learning to use coupons for everything from shopping online, to buying grocery, to eating out and I’m am always on the look out for good deals on everything else we buy.
I’ve been a “personal blogger” for several years now – I started my first blog when I found out I was pregnant with our first (Joy-Joy). In the midst of blogging about my personal life I began blogging (and posted on Facebook) about deals I’d found. Because I enjoyed sharing about these good deals with everyone I knew I finally decided I was ready to create this blog and share my knowledge with anyone who will read!
As you explore The MommyTrade you’ll find that this blog is 2 fold. First my goal is to help you save money. For some of us saving money is a must and for others of us it’s not required because of our circumstance, but more of our desire. You will find posts on this blog about Grocery Store deals for store in Southern California (Ralphs, Stater Brothers, Vons & Albertsons). These deals are typically posted on Wednesdays. I also post about other deals, freebies and coupons that I come across.
The second part of this blog is a way for me to fulfill my desire to share the things I am learning in life. When I got married I had some many questions about how to be a wife and have been learning so much these past 5 1/2 years. I have also found the same to be true of other women in my life so I am using The MommyTrade as my platform to share what I’ve learned and continue to learn in life. This includes anything from cleaning tips, life as a mom, input about our roles as wives, how to blance to everything all the way to occasionally a post about what God is teaching my in my walk with him. I am by no means an expert – I only have 5 1/2 years experience as a wife and 3 as a mom! But I still desire to share what I am leanring – maybe some of it will be helpful for you and perhaps you’ll have some great input for me and other readers!
